Who uses EDDM Print Only

  • Budget-first campaigns where skipping the mailing service fee matters
  • Agencies and marketers who handle USPS logistics for clients

Your part

What you do at the Post Office

These are the USPS EDDM Retail steps. They are straightforward, and each ZIP code is its own drop. If you would rather skip them, Full Service handles all of it.

About EDDM Print Only

Print Only is Every Door Direct Mail printing without the mailing service. The pieces arrive printed to the USPS EDDM size rules with the indicia area in place, and you complete the Retail paperwork and the drop-off yourself. It costs less than Full Service because there is no mailing service fee and you pay postage straight to USPS, and it suits mailers who know the routine or mail close to home.

EDDM Print Only questions

What is the difference between Print Only and Full Service?

With Print Only we print your pieces and ship them to you, and you take them to the Post Office and pay postage. With Full Service we also bundle by route, file the paperwork and deliver the mailing to USPS, with postage included.

Do I need a postage permit?

Not for EDDM Retail. You pay postage at the counter of the Post Office that serves your routes when you drop the mailing off.

Which Post Office do I take the mailing to?

The one that serves the carrier routes you picked. The USPS EDDM tool shows the facility for each route; a different Post Office can turn the mailing away.

What sizes qualify for EDDM?

EDDM only accepts flats. USPS counts a piece as a flat when it is longer than 10.5 inches, taller than 6.125 inches or thicker than 0.25 inch, and no bigger than 15 × 12 inches. Every size we sell qualifies, and each size page explains which rule it clears.

Are there limits on how much I can mail?

EDDM Retail allows 200 to 5,000 pieces per ZIP code per day. Bigger campaigns split across days or ZIP codes, or move to Full Service.

Do the pieces come bundled?

Only if you choose bundling in 50s or 100s when you order. Without it the pieces ship unbundled and you count and band them before the drop.
